TSC Releases Dates for publishing Merit Lists & Interview Dates Per County.

Teachers Service Commission (TSC) announced start of a nationwide recruiting drive in an effort to alleviate the critical tutor shortage in schools.

The commission indicated that there are 5,000 new openings and an additional 8,230 positions to replace teachers who have left the service as a result of attrition.

A total of 3,972 of the newly hired teachers will be tasked with assisting President Uhuru Kenyatta’s 100% transition policy by working in a variety of secondary schools.

Also a total of 28 tutors will be allocated to teacher preparation courses, while 1,000 teachers will be placed in primary schools.

All these teachers will be employed permanently and be eligible for retirement.

This recruiting move , which will target schools in the counties of Mandera, Garissa, and Wajir, would include affirmative action.

One thousand teachers will be assigned to the North Eastern county.

In a revised job posting released on Monday, June 27, the commission headed by Nancy Macharia disclosed plans to hire 764 primary school teachers and 80 secondary school teachers.

Both the positions and the pensions are permanent.

In order to fill openings in Garissa, Mandera, and Wajir, TSC additionally re-advertised 386 posts on contractual terms, with 114 for primary schools and 272 for secondary schools.
